Areas of Practice

There are many different divisions of law within the legal system. Where one attorney may only do divorce work, another may only do criminal, or tax. In Indiana, attorneys are not allowed to state they “specialize” in a particular area. This list is not meant to mean these attorneys specialize in that particular area of law but that they limit the scope of their law practice to these areas and feel comfortable offering legal advice in these fields.

Administrative Law

Administrative Law revolves around the laws and procedures used by governmental agencies such as labor boards, the FDA, the ECA, and even the USDA.

Adoption Law

Adoption Law revolves around the special laws used in the adoption process of a child. Some place this in a Family Law category because it is about families, or it is listed in a Probate Category because it is part of the Probate Code. Some attorneys that do Adoptions do not do other kinds of family law like divorce so we have listed it separately.

This area of law revolves around contracts and the Uniform Commercial Code for negotiable instruments. It is used in every bill of sale, lease agreement, purchase agreement.

This list of attorneys represent those who have been charged with a crime, whether for a major crime like murder or a minor offense such as driving while suspended. DUI/OWI, Assault, Battery, Theft, and Larceny are all kinds of offenses in which these attorneys may be able to represent you.

Lemon laws are American state laws that provide a remedy for purchasers of cars in order to compensate for cars that repeatedly fail to meet standards of quality and performance. These cars are called lemons.


Medical law is the branch of law which concerns the prerogatives and responsibilities of medical professionals and the rights of the patient.

Medical Malpractice

Medical malpractice is professional negligence by act or omission by a health care provider in which care provided deviates from accepted standards of practice in the medical community and causes injury or death to the patient.

Motorsports Law

Motorsports Law is for those who manufacture, sell, or use and/or compete with motor sport vehicles and machines and the organizations that sponsor them.

Non-Profit Organization Law

This area of law is focused on the organization, structuring, and formation of charitable institutions and the bylaws that control and operate them.

Probate Law

Probate is the legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person by resolving all claims and distributing the deceased person’s property under the valid will. Probate also includes adoptions and guardianships.

Property Law

Property law is the area of law that governs the various form of ownership and title in real property (land as distinct from personal or movable possessions) and in personal property including vehicles and watercraft.

Real Estate Law

This area of legal practice that deals with land along with any buildings or items that may be attached to the land. Real estate law deals with matters relating to land ownership, tenancy, easements, and the registration and migration of titles.

School / Education Law

Education policy refers to the collection of laws and rules that govern the operation of education systems.

Social Security Disability / Social Security Supplemental Insurance (SSDI/SSSI)
